Hello everyone!! I contacted the Florida Georgia Blood Alliance to ask questions about donating both blood and platelets to Seths account. This is what I found out: You can donate blood or platelets to Seths account (account R225) at any FL/ GA Blood Alliance location. You will need a government issued photo id to donate. Blood and platelet donors must be at least 110 pounds and at least 17 years old. There is no age limit. Certain health conditions and medications may limit or prevent individuals from donating. A list of these limitations, as well as locations, hours, and appointments, can be found at igiveblood. Blood type does not matter in order to be credited to Seths account. Appointments are preferred, but not required for blood donations. The blood donation process takes under an hour. You can donate blood every 56 days. Appointments are needed for platelet donations, as this process takes about two hours. It is preferred, but not required that platelet donors have donated whole blood before. Platelets can usually be donated every two weeks, but certain health circumstances can vary this window. Thank you to everyone who has donated already or plans to donate.
