Hello everyone...I have had a lot of people ask what they can do to help. Right now we r doing good. I am at the hospital with Keira, where she is about the same. Her counts are a little better, her ANC is .4, her hemoglobin was low this morning 7.4 and platelets were good 70. She is getting a unit of blood right now, she is on 2 antibiotics, TPN, IV Tylenol and pain meds. She is in good spirits and overall comfortable. David is at home with the other kiddos and they are doing good. Since everyone is asking what they can do I thought the easiest thing you could do would b to donate blood. So many children need blood and platelets everyday. When we are in the cancer center we see children in there all the time in need of them. So if you would all like to help you can come to Mercy hospital and donate. I am going to go to the blood bank in the morning and sign up so people can donate directly to her if u are B-. If you are not B- you can still donate. They will use what they can for Keira and use the rest for the other kiddos that need it daily. There is no rush on donating, she is getting everything she needs but this is something everyone can do to help not only Keira but others as well. I posted something earlier about blood types, it says she can have O- and B- but they keep her type specific. I am not exactly sure how platelets work, I am not sure if they have to be type specific or not, but like I said it doesnt matter because someone can benefit from them.
