Hello everyone! Im cheating a bit since I grew up in Hoboken and now live in JC. On Memorial Day, I read an article in the Jersey Journal about Ralph Santeramo, a WW2 vet from Hoboken/JC. We actually have many similarities in our lives so I wrote him a quick note to thank him for his service. Well- he tracked down my phone number and I am out here in California where he lives in a nursing home. I was able to meet him yeaterday- he gave me a copy of his memoirs- lots of cool stories about growing up in the Heights! How about this for a coincidence- in 1931 he lived at 519 Central- same apartment my dad lived in 75 years later! He was so excited to get a visitor who could talk about Hoboken and Jersey City. If anyone would like his address to drop him a quick note of hello, I know he would love it. Let me know and I will send you his address. I even got to look through his yearbook from Dickinson from 1938!!!
