Hello everyone, Thank you for accepting me on this group. I am a member of 3 Toastmasters Clubs here in Queensland [Gold Coast to be exact]; 2 regular Clubs and an advanced Club. I am also sponsoring 1 Club here and mentoring 1 in HCMC [Vietnam]. In my spare time I am President at Nerang Toastmasters and Area 24 Governor. I am also the crazy Toastmaster behind the project titled - Around the World with 80 Artists” . The objective of this project is to publish 80 stories featuring 80 artistic Toastmasters from around the world. Nominations close on Jan 31st and a website is expected to go live in late January under ArmandoCristofori [NB: not live yet] The book is expected to be ready for distribution in August at the Toastmasters International Convention in Malaysia. The focus of the stories is the person behind the badge Toastmasters so proudly wear and every story is different as each artist differs. Each story will be 4 pages in length and this includes photographs. The end product may be as much as 350 pages and distribution will be international with the first print run expected to be 2000 copies. The process is quite simple:- once we receive a nomination we despatch an information collection form and begin our research; a writer them writes the story which is app 1500 words in length; the artist provides feedback and this continues till everyone is happy with the story. The story will not be published without the approval of the artist and is kept confidential till the book is published. The list of countries/regions with artistic Toastmasters interested in this project is growing every day. We now have 56 countries/regions represented.
