Hello fellow soon-to-be-nurses, My name is Julian Brightside, I am entering my 4th and last year of the nursing program. I want to use this venue to tell you about a great program pioneered by faculty of health called the Student Health Ambassador at York (SHAY). A SHAY gets the prestigious honor to represent the faculty of health at York at various events throughout the year such as the Ontario University Fairs, high school visits/workshops, and school tours. At such, a SHAY speaks to students and parents who are unsure about nursing, and guides them so they may make an informed choice down the right career path. Upon taking up the role of a SHAY, you become a role model nursing student for York in the eyes of prospective students and parents. Becoming a SHAY is a leadership opportunity, one of first of many steps you will undoubtedly embark to become a leader in your career and in life. It is also a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and network with like minded people such as yourself. SHAY program asks that you attend a minimum of 4 events throughout the entire year. SHAY gear will also be provided. The position is opened to nursing students in all years of their nursing study. They are specifically in need of nursing SHAYS!! Lets represent Nursing at York, guys! Email Sophie Harding for an interview: [email protected] Cheers, Julian Yim
