Hello friends! I feel it’s not necessary to express about my opinion, but I just want to share something to you, It’s not offending or defame somebody. I’ m a staff in the Orphanage Center for over three years, my responsibility as teacher, translator/interpreter in the foreign languages. I’ve heard the others teacher in the public Scholl always complain about their salary very often. I usually bring the kids going to school by Tuk Tuk every morning, I have shift with one more guy week by week. I encountered with some of the teachers including principle, they told me about their income is very low. They trying to teaching the students full time. They have the complaint and murmuring that they have to work supporting their family. They have to work the extra jobs outside such as teaching to collect the money from the students, especially many of the teacher living at the rural areas I found that they’re so busy working in their fields during this season (Rainy Season) .At the primary school and junior high not far from my location, I’ve seen teacher not teaching the students full time. I dropped the kids 5 or 10 minutes before they start, I just wondered for years why they’re off at 10:00 or 10:30 every day. So I assumed that they’re not teaching four hours but only 2 or 3 hours a day, I estimated the students taking a break normally 2 times it’s 30 minutes. It raising curiosity to me if it should be the corruption in the education system in Cambodia, as so many people has kown. Below is posting by other fellow about the complaint being a teacher I don’t want to translate it straightly but I sense it “ MY JOB IS A TEACHER, EATING COLD RICE, I’M GAURDING THE SCHOOL, WHAT SHOULD I DO IN 30 DAYS? CLOTHING MEDICINE, I’VE SEEN MONEY JUST FOR A MOMENT, SHOPPING JUST PRETEND SEE NOTHING AND PASSED, THE INVITAION FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS. ALL THINGS ARE EXPENSIVE, JUST LOOKING, PARCHED THE THRAOT.
