Hello guys! I just want to share what I’ve experienced doing buy and sell transactions online (Facebook, Viber, OLX, and Instagram). I was selling my pre-loved Apple iPod Touch (5th Generation) and posted it in OLX, and buy and sell groups in Facebook. I was getting a lot of inquiries about it and someone named “Rosette Ellen Libunao Roxas” (FROM LAPAZ, TARLAC) (her real name) and at the same time using different names (i.e. Aprille Erika Macaraeg / Thea), told me she was really interested in buying my item but she’s still in SG for her internship, instead she proposed to pay a reservation fee thru her friend in order for me to reserve it to her, until such time she can come back to PH to get it to me or if not, thru her friend (Thea). But before it, she asked for my ID (i.e. Driver’s License) to assure that I’m a legit seller so I did, and then, she asked someone to deposit to my boyfriend’s bank account (since I don’t have an account to the bank she’s asking) and the money went in so we’re good and I already considered my item as “sold” to her. After a few days, there were a series of cash deposits again and she just told me that ‘twas her friends who owe her so she just asked them to pay thru me (boyfriend’s bank account) so I can hand over the money when we meet up. Not knowing her “real purpose”, I trusted her, considering she paid in full amount (thru bank deposits) and she has even an excess of Php 3,600. Then the day came, she told me she’s still in SG so I met her friend, Thea. I hand her the excess money (Php 3,600) plus the Apple iPod Touch. So we’re done deal. But after a few days, there’s a deposit of Php 5,150 which came from Davao and she (Rosette Ellen Libunao Roxas) claimed to be her friend owing her too. She told me if I can transfer it to her immediately since she needs it ASAP, but I can’t since I’m already out of town during the time it went in, and I still don’t have the money to hand her over (the money’s still with my BF’s bank account) so I just offered her to give the money back after the holidays (January 05, 2015), so she agreed. Cutting the story short, few days after we met, my BF was receiving weird and unsolicited messages in his FB account asking for their tracking number and at the same time asking him for the items they already paid. So to summarize, Rosette Ellen Libunao Roxas used my identifications such as ID’s and images and at the same time my boyfriend’s bank account numbers in order to scam sum of money from different people so that when these people found out that it was a swindle, they will run after me and my boyfriend. Luckily we were able to settle the issue and she paid all the sum of money scammed and involved in the case. PLEASE SHARE TO INFORM AND PROTECT EVERYONE. Thanks!
