Hello lovely followers/supporters/likers and friends of HAPA. We are getting asked daily in the last few weeks about the future of HAPA. That is because the ReStart mall is going to close in its current location in April. The truth is that we havent got an answer yet. We are two months away from the moment we need to pack and move but we are still waiting for official confirmation on any solution. As soon as we know, we will share the news with you. In the meantime, Id like to personally thank many of you that come up with supportive words, well wishes and great ideas of where could we go next! Someone today even suggested that interested citizens of Christchurch could buy the ReStart concept and own it as a coop. That was such a heart warming suggestion!! I know that many are proud of this space and it shows how this city can create amazing projects. As you can imagine, from a business point of view, it is hard for Maureen and me to plan things (stock, staff...). We knew all along that this was a temporary project and that eventually the lease would end. However we always expected a bit more notice! :-) In any case, hopefully youll follow us wherever we go.
