Hello may name is Heather Garczynski. I found your page in a closed group called cops killing dogs. I am a local grassroots activist in the Erie, Pa area. I am currently advocating for friends of mine that had their 1 1/2 year old pit bull, Gage, senselessly shot on September 20th 2013 by animal control and law enforcement while he was doing nothing more than hanging in a tree (something he loved to do). After his death the police department as many do after shooting pit bulls claimed (contrary to eye witness accounts and pictures of his bullet wound) he was charging after them and that is why he was shot. Since then we have produced a video depicting his life, created a Facebook Page, Justice for Gage and started a petition which as of now has roughly 1420 signatures from around the country and world demanding training to assist these officers in determining what is and what is not aggressive behavior, use of non lethal means in order to subdue loose dogs especially pit bulls and for each encounter to be video taped in order to increase accountability on behalf of officers and deter the shoot on site mentality. We need all the help we can get in this quest for Justice, not just for Gage but all other family pets that are murdered either because of their breed or the misunderstanding of their behaviors.
