Helloooo from Puerto Rico. Arrived October 8. Sorry for not being in touch. There is no wi-fi at the farm and my Verizon phone does not work in Puerto Rico, so I am kind of isolated. Just now had chance to get to Ponce and use wi-fi. Had harvest yesterday in the rain, picking typical and caturra. Will be doing an experiment on natural process coffee at Hacienda Pamarossa to see if it would change the flavor profile of the coffee. After harvest was helping Sebastian to serve visitors. Worked on on group Rancilio machine to pull espresso shot and cappuccino for guests with local coffees. Local coffee so far reminds me the cup profile of Indonesian Sumatra with very distinct flavor profiling and cup quality. The weather at the farm is just gorgeous. We are 3,000 feet above sea level with nice cool breeze. Comparing to Hawaiian coffee farm where I spent two weeks back in January-February this year, Puerto Rican farm has coffee grown on the top of the mountains, spread all over the farm. In Hawaii it was more on the flat area. So, if I am away from FB which I feel bad it means I am working at the farm with no access to wi-fi. Tomorrow I will be sorting green peaberries.
