Helped a family today who was panhandling. Was glad to do it. Unfortunate folks. Talked to another who said “will work for food.” But when I offered to help him with some work, he refused. I love helping the deserving poor. We do much to help those in need. Many unfortunate things can happen. Jobs lost and companies closing their doors. Sickness can attack. The devil is out to kill and steal and destroy.. WE should help those who really deserve it. James 1:27 The Message (MSG) 26-27 Anyone who sets himself up as “religious” by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world. But the bible also tells us that some folks are deadbeats 2 Thessalonians 3:10 The Message (MSG) 10-13 Don’t you remember the rule we had when we lived with you? “If you don’t work, you don’t eat.” And now we’re getting reports that a bunch of lazy good-for-nothings are taking advantage of you. This must not be tolerated. We command them to get to work immediately—no excuses, no arguments—and earn their own keep. Friends, don’t slack off in doing your duty. Some people don’t take care of their families. Really? God has something to say about that too. 1 Timothy 5:8 Living Bible (TLB) 8 But anyone who won’t care for his own relatives when they need help, especially those living in his own family, has no right to say he is a Christian. Such a person is worse than the heathen. At the chance that I may offend someone may I say that , if you are capable of working, but you are EXPECTING others to take care of you, Get right. Get off your butt and work. Just Ramblin Pastor Robert L Kaps
