Helping with language development is the number one thing parents can do to prepare their children to succeed in kindergarten. But as this article points out, its not all about parents--community organizations play a big role in early literacy development. Here in Sonoma County we are fortunate to have many great organizations that support early literacy: Free Bookmobile of Sonoma County, Sonoma County Library, First 5 Sonoma County, 4Cs - Community Child Care Council of Sonoma County, Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County, and many more.
