Herbalismo! A Medicinal Plant Festival (early registration ends today 8/31 $295, Sept 1 $325) This fall, Texans will enjoy the rare opportunity of learning from master herbalists who seldom venture this far south as well as some of the best practitioners from our region at Texas’s first herbal medicine conference. Herbalismo! A Medicinal Plant Festival of the Deep South is happening at Flat Creek Crossing Ranch (next to Pedernales Falls State Park), just outside of Austin and it brings respected elders from the herbal community as well as herbal activists including author/herbalist and founder of United Plant Savers, Rosemary Gladstar, former director NIMH Paul Bergner, author/herbalist Matthew Wood, author and herbal practitioner Margi Flint and a host of others. Class topics range from materia medica, herbs for pets, stories of first responders to natural disasters, traditional birthing practices, and healing post traumatic syndrome in veterans to plant walks.
