Here, a piece of performance art that takes a surprise turn -- for the artist -- and makes the work even more of a beautiful punch in the heart. Artists Marina Abramović and Ulay were lovers for 12 years, and when they felt as the relationship had come to an end, they both walked from one end of the Great Wall of China to the other together and then parted with the assumption they wouldnt meet again. Twenty-two years later, Marina performed The Artist is Present, a piece where she would share a moment of silence with each stranger who sat in front of her -- and one of those strangers happened to be Ulay.
