Here are a couple tips to pass along to your friends regarding getting tattooed and who to go to. Listen, there are a lot of talented artists in the valley these days. There are also many hacks. Before choosing an artist, do these things first. Step one. Decide what youd like to get and what style youd like to get it done in. From there do a little research. Check out portfolios on line. These days artists utilize Facebook and Instagram consistently and are always putting up their work. So before wasting time going to the shop, make sure they are capable of what you are looking to do. Find a couple artists whos style is what you like. Step two. Go to the shop. Check things out. Look around. Listen to your gut. If you dont like the look of the place or it makes you feel bad in any way, leave. You arent obligated at this point so get outta there ASAP! If it appeals to you, find out when the artist you are interested in is available to talk to you. Talk to the other artists in the shop. If you dont like how they treat you, leave. You want to be able to feel comfortable while getting your tattoo. Any tension is a good signal to walk out. You want to be able to trust this person. If you dont like something about the people or the place, go to the next artist on your list. Once you find a place that makes you feel good then proceed to the next step. Step 3. Talk about what you are looking for. A good artist will do everything they can to try and accomplish what you want. (There are times when what you want might not work, so trust your artist to guide you in the right direction. If they say that they think 15 names in 8 point scripture font done on your foot is okay, you might want to go elsewhere though.) consult with them and make sure they understand what you want on your body. It IS your body so dont feel obligated to put anything on it that you dislike. They should be willing to draw something up for you and show you before hand that way you can make changes and restructure anything you want to before heading in for your actual appointment. Just some food for thought. Now back to your other Facebook bullshittery.
