Here are some SNK facts you might or might not know: 1.) The setting in SNK was supposed to be in a forest but the idea of having three separate walls was better because it sets a distance between humans and titans. 2) Although every character have some kind of European name; Isayama did the location based on a rural area in Japan where he used to live that had mountains. Hence the reason why there were mountains in the anime/manga and why almost everyone look like they lived in a farm-like area. 3.) The idea of titans came up when Isayama was talking to a drunk man. He realized the most scariest creatures on earth were really humans. 4.) Hange does not have an exact gender in the manga so it is up to the readers.
