OCT 25 Theres a Yard sale on tomorrow (Sat) in Moncton to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Its at 113 Nowood Ave from 8 am 12 noon. Take the Side Door to the Basement. There are Flea Market Items & Good Used Clothing. OCT 25 The Tree of Hope Breakfast will take place at the Balmoral Community Centre this Sunday (Oct 27) from 10am to noon. For information contact Marcella LeBlanc @ 506.826.2896 The Tree of Hope is a fundraiser for cancer research and treatment in New Brunswick. OCT 25 There are a couple of music-related events today (Fri) at Mount Allison University in Sackville. Laura Mitchell from Bishops University will present a talk on the psychology of music. Its from 2:30 - 3:30pm at Mini Wu, Sir James Dunn, Room 108 All are welcome! Then in a faculty recital, pianist Stephen Runge performs music by Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms. Thats at Brunton Auditorium from 8 - 10 PM. For more information please contact the Mt.A Music department at 364-2374 or e-mail [email protected] OCT 25 The New Brunswick Mat Registry (METS) is holding a Registry tomorrow (Sat) in Moncton. Its at Moncton Employment and Training Services at 1250 St George Blvd from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The network of volunteers from all regions of the province, has already documented over 200 hooked mats -- some as old as 100 years, since its launch in 2010. These mats were photographed, examined in detail and the owners interviewed to capture the individual stories behind them. Everyone who owns a mat made more than 25 years ago in New Brunswick or by someone born in the province is invited to share this heritage by participating in a Registry. It includes development of a database and a Virtual Exhibit in partnership with the New Brunswick Museum. Everyone is welcome to drop in...but if you have a mat to register, youll need to make an appointment. Contact Marsha MacDonald at 506-523-0896). OCT 25 Mindscapes New Brunswick is a Canadian Mental Health Association New Brunswick Division initiative which strives to empower persons living with mental illness. Through creative expression, the talented artists who contribute to this exhibit make an important connection by reaching out to everyone who views their works. The exhibitionwraps up today at the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre. This year there are 71 works of art by 59 artists. Tickets are $20 OCT 25 Butterfly Wings Foundation Auction and Concert will take place at Centre des Arts de Dieppe tomorrow (Sat) OCT 25 Theres a FALL FAIR happening at Pauls United Church in Riverview from 9 am - 1 pm tomorrow. Planned activities include music with the choir and special guests from 10 - 11, a Silent Auction, tables of baking, crafts, books, music, jams and jellies, and much more.
