Here at the request of some critics below, is a post about the kids killed in Pakistan. Of course it is tragic and of course it is horrific. Why do I pursue the stories that are NOT being covered more than the stories that are guaranteed to be covered wall to wall? Because... they are not being covered or not being covered diligently. I am not a conglomerate like CNN -- I am one unpaid person with one unpaid volunteer and three unpaid citizen editors. I will continue to devote my resources to pursuing the stories that seem to need light and air and otherwise will vanish without a trace, and with them important insights, and the chance to learn and grow and even seek justice and accountability.But as I say all the time, if you think I am missing a story, YOU post it. This is wiki-citizen journalism. For Hanukkah, this season of light and peace ideally, I would like to pray that my fellow tribespeople on this page who often seek to redirect my attention away from Palestines suffering and toward mayhem inflicted in parts of the Muslim world -- of which there is indeed no shortage...ask themselves if nyah nyah nyah they do it too, look over there is the theme song we really want to be known for in the face of tragedy and injustice. We are not seven-year-olds on a playground. This is geopolitics and lives are at stake. Maybe we want to be known for nobler and kinder reactions.
