Here in Saskatoon (and elsewhere in Saskatchewan) a huge build has been taking place; a build of commercial and residential buildings. There seems to have been a rush to throw these buildings up, temporary structures at best...with no regard to passive solar energy...in the future when fossil fuel peak slides down the inavailability slope! These rapidly constructed structures are totally reliant on fossil fuel for heating. I predict that they will eventually be abandoned, with an outmigration of residents to a somewhere where winter is so cold and long....and where the furnace does not run for 8 months of the year!
