Here is a follow-up to my previous post on Mel Carter. Mel and Zelda left SAR Records in the spring of 1964, and he was signed to a recording contract with Imperial Records. His first big release on Imperial was The Richest Man Alive, which was released in late 1964. (He performed it on American Bandstand on 12/26/64 - see previous post.) I did a little bit of YouTube searching and discovered that Mel was on television many times in 1965 and 1966. He made regular appearances on Shivaree (ABC-TV) and Hollywood A-Go-Go (Syndicated; on Channel 9 in L.A.) The clip here is from Mels performance on Shivaree June 12, 1965. He performed his big hit, Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me and A Sweet Little Girl. He also appeared on Shivaree on 2/6/65, 11/13/65, 1/22/66 and 3/5/66.
