Event and Marketing Manager About the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce In 1978, a group of local Hispanic chamber leaders from throughout California convened to create an organization that would effectively represent the interest of the rapidly growing Hispanic-owned businesses in California. Through its network of Hispanic chambers and business associations the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce (CHCC) represents the interest of over 700,000 Hispanic business owners in California. The CHCC is the premier and largest regional ethnic business organization in the nation that promotes the economic growth and development of Hispanic entrepreneurs and Californias Emerging Businesses. Job Description The CHCC seeks a full time Events and Marketing Manager to manage and coordinate all of the CHCC events, workshops and meetings. Additionally, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing plan for the CHCC. Due to the nature of these responsibilities, this position is highly visible both internally and externally. Extreme attention to detail, organization skills, and meeting deadlines is an important trait for the success of this position. Project Management, Event Planning, Marketing and Fundraising experience are essential. Responsibilities Plans, organizes and executes all event logistics including but not limited to securing event space, registration, volunteer coordination, managing on-site production, sponsor fulfillment, marketing and promotion for all chamber major events and programs. Updates checklists, templates, project plans, and other tools to streamline and simplify execution the next time a similar event is conducted. Schedules and organizes event committee meetings; creates meeting agendas and meeting minutes. Conducts post-event evaluations and debriefs to determine how future events can be improved. Prepares timely thank-you notes to speakers, sponsors, and key volunteers after events. Manages marketing of events including press releases, advertising, collateral, PSA (s) and communication to members. Ensure accuracy of event information both in printed and online materials; material design, production and distribution. Manages the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans for events and conferences including direct mail, email, web site, search engines and social media marketing. Writes and edits content for the organizations print publications, email newsletters and Website. Responsible for increasing the Chambers online presence, including driving additional traffic, creating revenue streams and providing opportunities to engage and interact. Responsible for monitoring the fulfillment of the events and marketing budgets. Cultivates and expands sponsorship development and fulfillment. Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objectives of the position and the organization. This is an Exempt position. Desired Qualifications 2+ years experience in event planning and marketing. Ability to prioritize resources in line with business needs. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; ability to write and articulate ideas in a persuasive, organized, and effective manner. Proficiency in a wide range of computer software programs desired; Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Office Publisher, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and InDesign. Expertise using Hoot Suite, Google Analytics or other tool for managing and measuring social media. Strong interpersonal skills: ability to interact with community leaders, members, and a wide range of individuals. Excellent organizational skills with attention for detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and handle multiple projects. Diligent work ethic and insatiable desire to expand skills and be the best. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, set priorities and work within deadlines. Must be dependable, punctual and personable. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and travel. Spanish written and oral communication skills preferred. Education: Four year degree is a plus. Salary:Commensurate with experience.
