Here is a letter from one of our customers that the Social Media side never sees! Tommy gets us and he understands what we try to achieve with every customer that works with us. Thank you sir very much, always a pleasure! Scott Letter of Appreciation This letter goes out to the Rev Works team. All of them have been great to work with, and always take time to answer my questions and talk to me about what I am wanting out of the car, and my goal for it. Car is a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STi. I bought it bone stock, and did a lot of bolt ons myself to increase power, handling, and stopping ability. Never really did much beyond what my abilities allowed. I always planned to someday build an engine, go with a larger turbo, and take the car to the track to have some fun. Fast forward to May 2014. Come to find out the thieves that had stolen my car had damaged the engine as well. Insurance paid a very small amount to repair 2 cylinders, which I took the money, had the car towed back to Rev Works, and the fun began. I had been talking to them for probably 2 years about engine build parts, what I want, my goals for it, and based off that, what turbo I should go with. The turbo I had actually purchased from them roughly 6 months prior to this, so now I just needed to finalize the engine build parts and get it going. I knew this would not be a cheap process, but I was not willing to skimp on what I feel is a very important element of any car and should not be hacked together. I wanted the best: best parts, best techs, and of course, people I trust with my car. And so, the process began. Through the process I spoke to Tim Novak, their engine builder, about the goal of what I want out of the car. He was excited to be building it for me, and it was great to see someone who cares and gets excited over what a customer wants, and helping him/her achieve that goal. We built a full engine, heads included, and ported the heads as well. Aside from the engine build, I wanted a car capable of doing track duty as well as be my daily driver. After some discussions, it was decided an oil cooler would be useful to help regulate the oil temp. I am running a front skid plate already, which means this oil cooler would require custom run lines to clear the skid plate and Tomei exhaust manifold. I also wanted some work from a previous shop cleaned up and replaced because frankly, it was awful looking. This meant removing the fuel lines that were on the car and running custom lines under the hood. As always, they did it with pride and knowledge, and when it was all said and done, I got back exactly what I expected. Not to mention every time I come in, Tim Novak asks how the car is doing, and is genuinely excited to hear about how it’s holding up, and the fun I am having driving her. Love his enthusiasm. Skip ahead 5 weeks and almost 1500 miles later, engine is all broken in, and I took the car back to use Rev Works’ dyno to get the car tuned. My tuner was very happy with his experience there on their shop dyno and the people. Got it tuned in, and a week later finally got to realize my goal for the car and took it out to an open track day at The FIRM (gorally). I had an absolute blast at the track, and like most track cars, found a few things I need to change out. Need brake pads (which Rev Works told me I would need), and also found out the GrimmSpeed AOS I have on the car is not up to track duty at all. Under track conditions, it gets overwhelmed and allows blow by. I got 2 15 minute runs on track before I felt I was not willing to risk damage to the engine due to oil consumption/loss from the GrimmSpeed AOS. Throughout the day (a Saturday), I kept in touch with Scott about the car, the oil issue, and he advised me as to what was going on, and why it was happening. Thanks to his willingness to answer questions on one of his days off, I was still able to have fun, and not scared to death I had done damage to the engine. Upon returning home, he and I quickly set up a custom oil catch can build for my car to alleviate this problem, and she is at Rev Works right now as they work to build a custom setup for my car. Once done, the oil blow by/consumption issue should be remedied, and I’ll be back out at the track again. A Note about me: I love this car, but I absolutely DO NOT baby it. I believe a car should be driven, not a garage queen. Yes, she has her fair share of scratches here or there, paint isn’t show quality, interior is a little dirty, but at the end of the day I can say I love driving her. Since getting her back from Rev Works just a few weeks ago (after the engine was broken in), I can say there has not been 1 day where I took it easy on her, and not 1 day where I would change anything about the build, or the place that built it. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody who asks about a shop. Scott Branham is probably the best Subaru tech in Florida, certainly the best in Orlando, not to mention that he can pretty much work on anything, any platform, any price range. Have a GTR, or EVO, BMW, Porsche? Doesn’t matter, take it to him. You will not be disappointed. He is a big part of why I take my car to his shop. He knows what he is doing, has the knowledge to do the job, and do it right, the first time. He has actual first hand experience building track cars, and the whole shop makes routine trips out to Sebring with a few of their shop cars and occasional customers’ cars also. They don’t just talk about it, they get out there and do it! This is what sets Rev Works apart from the rest. While a lot of shops can talk track days all they want, not many have the actual on-track experience and knowledge of being out there and doing it like Rev Works. I simply believe you will not find this level of knowledge and customer support anywhere else. Tommy Crenshaw Loyal Rev Works Customer
