Here is a little peek into our day today, Slept in, went to church and then out to dinner. At dinner my persistent cough started getting really bad and we headed home where our neighbor was over hanging out with Joey. Upon hearing my body trying to cough out my lungs he says, ok, I take you to doctor.. Hold on I call friend for car... Dont worry, free! We agree and about 10 minutes later he comes back with an ambulance! Mark and I have quickly learned to roll with anything so we kinda looked at each other, looked at our neighbor and decided to see where this took us. 15 minutes later we arrive at the hospital (we thought we were going to a clinic) but again decided to roll with it.. Got to the doctor and he started me on a breathing treatment to get my breathing and cough under control (keep in mind this is all in very broken English) .. After that he sent us to the pharmacy window and they gave us a whole bag of goodies... Medicine, inhaler, cough drops... And Mark and I just looked at each other thinking ,there goes our food money for the whole month!! We proceed to the payment window and to our lovely surprise.. It was only 500 bhat (approx. 15$) for everything!!!!!! Then we took the free ambulance home and as I was about to get ready for bed around 10 oclock. our neighbor tells us to follow him to a party that we hear a few houses down.. So I put my day clothes back on and we go... Ended up crashing a house blessing party (basically a HUGE family event .. Maybe 200 extended family members... And us) with the best food I have ever had , free drinks , and everyone wanted to talk with us and be friends!! All in all a pretty eventful day... There is a little tidbit into the random craziness that is our everyday... Who knows what tomorrow has in store!
