Here is a passage of text I tried to read at Sean and Sams wedding but barely made it because I started crying. Its by a guy named len gameway. The bridge and groom vow until death do us part. Death is the easy enemy. Before that comes monotony and repetition, and fatigue, and irritability and bad luck and cabin fever, and conflict, and the ills of aging. Marriage is held together by such flimsy things as lace, and trust, and moonlight, and tolerance. A successful marriage is a wind swept sea shore, scrubbed stones, wind and sky, a few growing things and an occasional butterfly. Barren or beautiful is mostly how you look at it. Many visitors to the beaches leave after a while, convinced theyve seen all there is to see. But in marriage those who persevere are rewarded with the most thrilling of all human experiences...falling in love with your own spouse. Marriage challenges the myopic view that more is better, and new is better, and replacement is always a delight. Marriage nourishes itself on memories and anticipation. Marriage does not run away from disappointment, or discomfort, or wrinkles. Marriage makes its own security in a world which offers no other security.
