Here is a photograph, taken in the late 1960s (I would guess about 1966) of members of the congregation of the Old Colwyn Assemblies of God Church, who used to meet in a little wooden hut on Beach Road, just below the Min-y-Don park. The building was divided in two by a paper thin dividing wall. On the other side of the wall was a model railway club (I think) and services had to be over in good time! We think that the occasion may have been a farewell service to the then minister Pastor Maurice Gough and the arrival of his successor Pastor Charles Bowler. This remained the meeting place of the congregation until April 25, 1970 when they moved into an ultra-modern (now demolished) purpose built church named Bethel, situated at the corner of St Catherines Drive. I wonder if anyone recognises any of the faces in the picture - many left us a very long time ago.....
