Here is a video and update on the amazing little Mini: Mini as you can see is doing so well, it really is unbelievable how she has managed to stay the wonderful little dog she is. All of the dogs she is with are calm and accepting of her and she has coped fantastically well. She does still on occasion freeze If things get a little excited during play. She is instigating play though and is now choosing to cuddle up next to the others and is happy to share beds with them, when she first arrived. This didnt happen and she would warn the others off. She is so resilient and still so trusting. Its doubtful she has been on a lead as this scares her, but now her infection is under control we have started to introduce short lead walks. Her house training is non existent at the moment, so again a work in progress, Mini loves everyone she meets and takes no notice of the cats at all. When she is ready for re homing whomever has her will need to be aware that she could over bond. At present we are encouraging normal dog behaviour rather than clinging to a human. She is now happy to be part of the pack with the others and is clean at night and happy to sleep in her crate. She does still guard her food a little (understandable when you consider she came in at just over 5kilos, she is now nearly 7) so is fed separately. Food will be the motivating factor in training this little girl as she will turn herself inside out for a treat. Her meals will now be cut to two a day as she has gained weight well. She is on a mix of dry and raw - so could be fed either in her new home. She has now come into season so will be neutered as soon as ready. All in all Mini is a beautiful little girl who has astounded me with her desire to be a happy loving normal dog. What she has endured should have made her into a shaking, petrified shell, her sheer tenacity and loving nature means that she is none of those things, just the smallest bundle of loveliness you could ever wish to meet. Your support has meant that Mini has had a chance. She still has a way to go yet in terms of healing and I should imagine a good few vet visits too.
