Here is another clip of Tintern Abbeys first time ever firing as a coal burning locomotive. CMO Tanner and I have some work to do with the valve motion before we fire her again. We want to install a higher volume mechanical lubricator to the admission and main cylinders and tighten up some of the motion, especially as it relates to the piston valve travel. We have had some trouble getting the valve events to time out equally, which Tanner has diagnosed as some slop in the motion. It is worth saying that, one, Walschaerts valve gear is very particular about its math in how the motion times out the valve events! and two, the potential errors are magnified many times over in a miniature locomotive if her Walschaerts is not correct!! We will get it all corrected, its just going to take some time.....
