Here is info from the USDA on what I mentioned earlier. So many people do not realize you cannot just cut cantaloupe and leave it sitting out for an hour or two at room temp. Here is one quote: "Hold and serve cantaloupe at 41 °F. Do not store cut melon at room temperature. If possible, display cut melons in a refrigerated case, not just on top of ice.
