Here is is Tyler Addiction By: Heather Mayes This is a true story, Not at all fiction, About a young couple, Struggling with addiction. 22 years old, A year ago, It hasnt been long, But has gone by slow. I lost my first love, So dear an so close, On a terrible night, To a heroin over dose. I starred out the window, Tears streamed down my cheek, I cleared my throat, An started to speak. I explained, When we first tried it out, It was just for fun, It wasnt a big deal, It was only one. So I took it from the bag, Set it on the foil, He lit the lighter beneath, It slid an boiled. It burned so slow, But hit so fast, An thats when I realized, Our first time was far from our last. Years went by, Everyday using, It never occurred to us, What we were doing. As time went by, It was never enough, The high would fade fast, It began to get rough. Constantly chasing, That first high we felt, He fixed up the needles, I reached for the belt. He said, Well just do it once, Just to see how we feel, We looked at eachother, And agreed on the deal. He kissed my lips, Pulled the belt tight, But something was wrong, He didnt look right. He fell to the floor, Began to convulse, And when he stopped moving, I felt for a pulse. Quicker than ever, I hit the floor too, Screaming and crying, No clue what to do. I shook him an said, Please dont give up, Whatever you do, But his face had lost color, His lips were blue. I awoke in a panic, Looked all around, I saw your sweet face, Sleeping so sound. You see, this is a true story, Not just a nightmare I drempt, More like a message, God sent as I slept. I feel like that night, God gave me a vision, He blessed me with the opportunity, To make the right decision. So now as I sit here, And I write this to you, I hope an I pray, Youll choose this way too.
