Here is my This could only happen in a small town story: Yesterday I got gas at Caseys and said Pay Inside since I needed to get a gallon of milk. When I went inside I saw Paige A Wood and the cashier and I started laughing with her about her awesome outfit- black track tights with pink and camo cowgirl boots, and I paid for my milk but apparently not the gas- neither I nor the cashier realized it at the time. Next morning I get a call on my cell phone and I listened to my voicemail on the way to work and Cheryl, the store manager, says Phyllis we think you paid for milk but not gas last night and owe Caseys $21.00. So, I stop in, wave to Cheryl, write a check and she comes over and we laugh about the Brethren pastors wife trying to drive off without paying for her gas. Then I said Oh, how did you get my cell phone number? Cheryl said I knew Dave Beyer went to your church, so I called him Per store policy she had also notified the Monroe police, who also made a friendly call to ask me to stop in and pay, and I called the officer back and said Weve got it covered Yep, in a small town, weve got it covered. And Paige, I blame you and your pink and green camo cowgirl boots :)
