Here is my complete story of how I got into Dark Shadows! It started in May 2012. The Tim Burton movie was coming out. The night before I saw the movie, I was at walmart and they had The Best of Barnabas so I decided to buy it to see what I would be in for. The next day, I had to go to a Burger King meeting. Thats where I work and we were closing for 4 or 5 weeks due to remodeling. Afterward, I picked up my friend Megan and we went to see the movie. I really liked its fish-out-of-water story. After the show, I took her home and watched a few DS episodes on netflix. I tried to get into it, but wasnt there yet. About a week or two later, I decided to see the movie again and thought that Id like to buy the Coffin Set. After seeing the movie, I went to walmart to buy a present for Megans brother. His Birthday was coming up. When I got back to my car, I was about to put it in reverse but the car on the opposite side hit me! There was no person in the car. I had to wait for an old lady to get done with shopping. They called the cops out and the whole time I was thinking, Hey I could use money from this car incident to buy the coffin set but I was way off because soon after, my air conditioning broke! So I had to use the womans money to buy a new A/C belt. In July, I decided that the Coffin Set was a fools dream and let it go. I started buying the collections separately. I was surprised at how well I liked the pre-Barnabas episodes. Burke Devlin was awesome! For some reason, we were at my aunt and uncles house and he had an assignment for me; he asked me to take his home made family videos and convert them to dvd. I was going back to their house in October and rushed to get it done. I finished and when I was ready to go back home, he paid me $400! Then I decided to try again for the mammoth Coffin Set! I sold my individual DS collections to a movie store to help give me a little more money to buy it. In all, I bought 13 collections. I finally bought it on ebay in November 2012 for $350! During all this, I met Sarah Hunt on a fan page and told her my story and what I thought of the series as I kept watching. In June 2013, I finally completed watching the entire series! It was bittersweet that I kept with it and it was finally over! Every now and then, I go back and re-watch some of my favorite storylines.
