Here is today’s report. —Jennifer Mascia Levi Williams, 69, was killed and a 7-year-old boy was critically wounded in a shooting at a home in Port St. Lucie, Fla., Tuesday evening. Police arrested Brandon Lamar Hawkins 24, the boyfriend of Williams’s stepdaughter. Hawkins and his girlfriend were arguing about their relationship status when he opened fire, apparently because he felt Williams had disrespected him. The boy was shot in the stomach as he and his mother fled the scene. —WPTV A 6-year-old girl was accidentally shot in the face and killed at a home in east San Antonio, Tex., Monday night. Police said the victim was in a room with her 8-year-old sister but police aren’t sure who pulled the trigger. It’s unclear whether any charges will be filed. Late that night in a separate incident on the northeast side of the city, Steven John McDonald, 58, was shot and critically wounded while moving out of a residence. Russell Ellis, 45, who was helping the victim with the move, told police that McDonald threatened him with a knife, but later said he was threatened with a gun. He was arrested. —KCENTV A 7-year-old girl was struck by a stray bullet at a playground in an apartment complex in the Petworth neighborhood of Washington, D.C., Tuesday evening. “My neighbors and me, we can’t handle [the crime] anymore; it’s too much,” a neighbor said. “I mean, that’s somebody’s baby.” A man who also sustained gunshot wounds in the incident ran a block before collapsing. No suspect or motive information has been released. —NBC Washington Juwan Williams, 18, who was shot multiple times in the West Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago Sunday evening, died of his injuries Tuesday. The victim was with a group of friends when two men approached and opened fire. No one is in custody. On Monday, a 31-year-old man was shot in the buttocks; a 23-year-old man was shot in the buttocks; a 21-year-old man was shot as he sat on a front porch in the Fernwood neighborhood; a 28-year-old man was shot in what may have been a domestic-related attack in the Fernwood neighborhood; a 29-year-old man was shot in the leg in the Hermosa neighborhood; a 19-year-old man was shot in the South Chicago neighborhood; two men, 24 and 29, were shot in the Austin neighborhood; and a man in his 20s was shot in the leg and arm. —Chicago Tribune A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed at a home in Hammond, La., early Tuesday. The shooting may have been the result of an altercation that took place earlier that night. Anyone with information is asked to call police. —The Advocate A 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg in North Philadelphia, Pa., Tuesday night. The shooter was described as a teenager who fled on a mountain bike. —Philly Two men in their 20s were wounded in a shootout following an argument in a residential neighborhood in north Charlotte, N.C., Tuesday morning. A woman was also wounded, but police did not say if she was shot. Dajuon Wannamaker and Demontra Glenn, a convicted felon, were arrested. —WSOCTV A woman was shot and killed and the man who came to her aid was wounded in Tempe, Ariz., Tuesday afternoon. Police said the man was trying to break up a physical fight between the victim and John Brazel, 33, in the parking lot of an apartment complex when Brazel opened fire. He is at large. —KPHO Marshal Tucker, 53, was shot to death and his girlfriend, 53-year-old Latonia Patterson, was wounded when Patterson’s ex-boyfriend allegedly opened fire on them in an apartment in Fairburn, Ga., Tuesday evening. The motive appears to be jealousy. Terry B. Marshall, 44, was arrested at his home. —oanow A man and a woman were found shot to death in an apartment near the Naval Air Station-Joint Reserve Base in west Fort Worth, Tex., Tuesday afternoon. Investigators have not said what preceded the gun battle. A green Cadillac reportedly circled the scene and someone inside opened fire. Police are searching for the car. —The Denver Post A man was killed and a woman and another man were injured in a drive-by shooting outside a lounge called the Dirty Ryderz MC Clubhouse in southwest Atlanta, Ga., Tuesday night. Police have not established a motive. —ajc Franchessca Petraline, 22, was shot with an air rifle wielded by a 10-year-old child near a pond in Fort Dodge, Iowa, early Sunday. The pellet went through her ribs, punctured her lung and lodged in her back. Doctors said the air rifle has the same killing power as a small-caliber handgun. It is legal in Iowa for children to possess air rifles. —KWWL Candice Barcenas , 26, was killed by a stray bullet when she looked outside her home after hearing gunfire in Compton, Calif., Monday night. The bullets, aimed at a 20-year-old man who was riding a bike, also struck a 32-year-old who was standing outside the home. Police do not have a description of the shooter. —KTLA 5 An employee of a strip club in Richmond, Ky., was hit in the back of leg when someone opened fire on the door to the club early Tuesday. Witnesses saw a man climb into the passenger side of a red S.U.V. and speed off. A witness got the vehicle’s license plate number and identified the driver as a woman. —WKYT A 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were shot on an elementary school playground in Richmond, Va., Tuesday evening. “I understand that someone got upset and decided to take matters into their own hands, and just had no regard for life,” Charles Willis of Citizens Against Crime said. Police have not located the gunmen. —NBC 12 Two men were wounded during an altercation outside a home in Hayward, Calif., early Tuesday. Police said three men were seen arguing when one of them pulled out a gun. The shooter fled the scene. —KTVU A 20-year-old man was shot in a condominium parking lot in Simsbury, Conn., late Monday. Police believe the victim and the suspect were acquaintances. —Fox CT One person was killed and another person was critically injured in a shooting in Millville, N.J., Tuesday evening. Police said a fight broke out and moved into an alley, where the victims were shot. No arrests have been made. —NJ Jonathan Landaverde, 18, was found shot to death in Elizabeth, N.J., Monday afternoon. No arrests have been made and no motive has been revealed. Detectives focused their investigation on the backyard of a house. —NJ Christopher Lamar Randle Jr. was shot and killed during an argument at an apartment complex in Las Vegas early Tuesday. A witness told police that the victim was standing next to his father, Christopher Lamar Randle Sr., who was armed and arguing with 31-year-old Elekaua Brown. Brown reportedly pulled a gun out of his waistband and opened fire on the victim. Detectives charged him with murder. That evening in Las Vegas, a man was shot in the stomach at an apartment complex on the east side of town. A SWAT team is searching for the shooter. —Las Vegas Review-Journal One person was shot and wounded following a verbal altercation at a home in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Tuesday night. Police are not saying whether they have made any arrests. —WNEP An 18-year-old man was killed and a 21-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in Anaheim, Calif., early Tuesday. Police are seeking witnesses. —Orange County Register A 69-year-old man was accidentally shot in the arm by his daughter-in-law while target practicing with his family in a backyard in Horry County, S.C., Monday afternoon. The woman was cleaning her .380 handgun, unaware that a bullet was still in the chamber. No charges are expected to be filed. —WMBF News A man was shot in the back during a family disturbance at a home in Burkburnett, Tex., Tuesday afternoon. A woman was detained for questioning. —Texomas A man was found shot and killed at an apartment complex in Lafayette, La., early Tuesday. —The Advertiser A man was shot in the head and killed in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco Tuesday night. —
