Here is the wine line-up for The Winery Dinner at Parlour on Monday 7th April at 19.30h/7.30pm. thewineryuk/parlour-games/ On arrival we will be serving Louis Casters’ Champagne Cuvee Superieure Brut made exclusively from Pinot Meunier. thewineryuk/growers/louis-casters-dameryvallee-de-la-marne/ With the starters we are showing two wines straight from the back of our van after last week’s trip to Germany. Kuhling-Gillot’s Qvinterra Riesling trocken 2013. Freshly-bottled, vibrant, dry Riesling from five parcels around Oppenheim on the Rhine. thewineryuk/growers/kuhling-gillot/ Thomas Nelles Pinot Noir 2011 is smooth and sensual. thewineryuk/growers/nelles-heimersheim/ Two other recent arrivals will be accompanying the main course. An elegant Single Vineyard Chardonnay from Wedgetail in the cool-climate Yarra Valley near Melbourne, Australia. Matthew Jukes, who is an expert on Australian wine, loved this when he visited last month. thewineryuk/growers/wedgetail/ Our main course red is Chateau Haut Lavallade 2010, a beautiful, silky Saint Emilion which we have been dreaming about since we tasted it in Bordeaux last November and which finally arrived on Monday. thewineryuk/growers/chateau-haut-lavallade-st-emilion/ Chef Jesse Dunford-Wood wanted to serve cheese and dessert courses, so we will be serving Lubentiushof Gans Riesling trocken 2011 – powerful, impressive, textured dry Riesling from the Mosel. thewineryuk/growers/lubentiushof/ Finally, something cheeky with dessert – Milly and Carlo Paladin’s Raboso Fiore, a gently sweet sparkling red from the Veneto. thewineryuk/growers/bosco-del-merlo-annone-veneto-organic/ Vegetarian Option Several of you have been asking about the vegetarian option. In Jesse’s words, “Plenty of Veggie Starters, don’t worry.” And Main Course? “Something amazing with Duck Egg, Morels and English Asparagus.” Ever since having a brilliant Staff Christmas Dinner at Parlour, we have been talking about putting on a Winery event there. Energetic Chef-Owner Jesse Dunford Wood is a star. He has worked in some great kitchens in the UK, Australia and the States, including the late, legendary Charlie Trotter’s in Chicago. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Dunford_Wood The cuisine at Parlour is quirky and witty. A boyhood surrounded by comics and comfort food is liberally plundered, providing a rich seam of inspiration. British favourites are reinvented, remixed. Jesse has put together a four course dinner for the evening. As has become customary at our dinners, we will be starting with bubbly. Starter and main courses will be accompanied by two wines, cheese and dessert by one each. thewineryuk/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2014/04/The-Winery-Parlour-Classics-Menu-070414.pdf Bring an appetite – portions tend to be generous!
