Here is your FORECAST RADAR for Wednesday and Thursday. You will note that the rain that pushes into north Texas during the day tomorrow (Wednesday) is depicted in blue and green colors. The blue is essentialy sprinkles or drizzle patches, and the green is light rain. Thus, this rain event - though fairly widespread at 60% - will not amount to much for north Texas. The second half of the animation takes us through Thursday afternoon where only sprinkles and drizzle are indicated for north Texas during the morning. But note the heavy thunderstorms that will rapidly fire in east Texas and move into Louisiana. This is the edge of the cap. On the caps edge, thunderstorms will fire quickly and intensify as they push into the lower Mississippi Valley. Although the cap will be nowhere near Godzilla strength, even over DFW, it appears to be just strong enough to prevent significant rain to fall in the lcoal area, although I am not quite sure we would want it to since large hail and damaging winds would no doubt quickly follow.
