Heres a GOES West satellite pic of the huge, comma-shaped swirl - TopicsExpress

Heres a GOES West satellite pic of the huge, comma-shaped swirl over the Pacific, which is producing the long fetch of mild, moist southerly winds over thousands of miles of warmer than normal Pacific Ocean, driving the northward buckling of the North American jet stream into Alaska and western sections of the continent before that jet dives southward, transporting bitter arctic air into the eastern 2/3s of the Lower 48. Im posting a surface wind plot off the U.S. Navys NOGAPs model which is transporting the jet stream buckling warmth northward plus a map of Midwest low temps observed Tuesday versus the warm coastal 40s in Alaska which provide stark evidence of the mild Pacific air sweeping into western North American and our 49th state. Im also posting some photos Ive shot Tuesday of building waves off the Big Island (Hilo) here in Hawaii where Ive been past few days.
