Heres a fine article by Eamon McCann about poverty in the six counties - he also complains here about articles written on the subject in densely academic language and makes a call for clarity of discourse (which is itself itself a very important form of inclusion).I think that, in this very elegantly written and persuasive piece, he conveys a lot about the historical and present-day ravages of poverty and exclusion - I recognise much of what he describes about his own childhood from my parents descriptions of growing up. It would be great to hear more from him and from other people who have this insight because their perspectives and comparisons would give young people a greater understanding of the structural and long-term inequalities that they themselves are facing today.
