Heres a quick summary of those confused between DSM-IV and DSM-V: (respectively) Being dx with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder vs Being dx with Autism Spectrum Disorder Contrary to popular misconception, dxs such as Aspergers Syndrome have not completely disappeared under DSM-V. Now there are varying levels of ASD - so simply substitute a level with former dx such as PDD, Aspergers Syndrome, etc., etc. And remember, even with DSM-V (and the pantheon of purported doctors, and alleged medical professionals comprising the almighty APA), ASD - is still a SPECTRUM.
