Heres a story about a family finding their perfect Bully Buddy when they didnt expect it after not considering a Pit Bull before! Bellas mom Karen sent in this story about how Bella joined their family: I have never had a dog. I have never thought I wanted a dog. And then there was Bella! Three years ago, my boyfriend Steve and I went to the Wildwood Bike Event in search of a leather jacket. We stumbled upon a group of rescues---one specifically that rescues Bully Breeds. There she was... this big, beautiful, 1 year old brindle girl with a pink marking on the top of her nose. She gave me a big kiss and melted my heart. I forgot all about that leather jacket. Two weeks later, Bella joined my family! She instantly bonded with her 2-legged brothers. She has given us all so much love and affection, that I dont possibly think we could give enough back to her. But gosh, we try. Last year, we visited HSAC thinking we would add to our family and give Bella a playmate. Along came Hamish (a pointer mix) and the two of them couldnt be better companions. These dogs have taught me so much. There was a time in my life where I had a Bully Bias... and I realize that it was because I was not educated about the breed. How wrong I was. I am truly proud to tell everyone that my Bella is a Bully Mix and I encourage others to embrace and educate themselves about the breed. My life is forever changed and full of more love than I could have ever imagined.
