Heres an easy way to love and care for your pastor: Leave them alone on their day off! ...Ok. It sounds kinda bad when you say it like that. Its not because they dont want to hear from you, or talk to you, or think about you -- they really do. They *want* to engage with you because they love you. So, even on their day off, theyre thinking about you; reading your emails, fretting over your texts, mulling over all the things they need to do for you in the coming week. But pastors (and their spouses) need a day of rest, too. Sometimes they need a day to not think about church, or ministry, or projects, or preaching, or people. And sometimes they need a day to not think about anything at all and just sit on the couch eating ice cream out of the container and watching 17 episodes of Battlestar Galactica in a row. *ahem* Or whatever. So find out your pastors day off, and then? Dont call, dont email, dont text him/her on that day, no matter what. (Like, barring an emergency, but you know what I mean.) Give em a break! They will love you for it.
