Heres an excerpt from an interview with Larry Gelbart, as he discusses the use of a laugh track on M*A*S*H; we all know how the laugh track works from the editors standpoint, but here Gelbart offers brief insight on the producers input. https://youtube/watch?v=02m7devejKI Im STILL trying to find a video I saw years ago of him speaking at an assembly, where he mentions Carroll Pratt by name, and how producers for years afterwards kept asking Pratt to give them a laugh track, Just like M*A*S*Hs, only to later ask for more and more.
