Heres an update notice regarding haze that currently affecting the Golf Club area. _____________________________________________________ Friday, 2 May 2014 HAZE UPDATE #FINAL As we are about to enter the weekend, this is a further update on the localized haze situation affecting our Head Office and Panaga Camp. Haze situation There has been a visible improvement in the haze condition overnight because of a more favourable wind condition. The smoke is a result from smoldering peat at the Lumut Bypass and Seria-KB Bypass near the junction of Kuala Balai, the latter of which is affecting the Panaga area. The smoke has a general tendency to move westerly however the changing wind condition can affect the condition and fluctuation of the haze. Personal precautions We would like to emphasise the advice given by our Chief Medical Officer on personal precautions to be taken during such weather condition. Please follow the wellbeing advice issued by our Chief Medical Officer in the internal bulletin (link). In addition to previous advice on applying good judgment on exposure to haze, medical advice is also available through Panaga Health Centre including provision of masks if required. Please refer to the guideline issued by our Chief Medical Officer through here (link to availability of masks). Organised outdoor events The health and safety of people is our highest priority at all times therefore we have decided to postpone all organized outdoor events this weekend by BSRC and Panaga Club including scheduled outdoor lessons. The reason for doing so is due to the unpredictable nature of the haze, and in line with previous advice on avoiding physical exertion outdoor. Individual outdoor activities at the clubs will be left to individual discretion and judgment. We will continue to monitor the overall situation regularly, prepare for any further developments and pro-actively communicate. Should you have concerns on any of the above, you may contact the CEA Emergency hotline at 8 777 449. Ends.
