Heres an update on the whole issue about hudud law thats been making the rounds on the Net since the news broke that the Kelantan Deputy Mentri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Amar proposed that surgeons amputate limbs under syariah law for convicted offenders. No disrespect to Islam and Muslims but I found this report in The Sun rather funny. The story is titled Muslim doctors don’t see eye to eye. (Great headline Ed.) The funny part is this part of the story which said that convicted offenders will have their limbs amputated in the most humane manner possible. Were gonna chop off your hand. But in the most humane manner possible. Dont worry ok. Whats the most humane way possible of chopping off someones hand? Dont worry you wont feel it at all. And itll be over in a second. By the way, you right or left-handed? Islam like other religions has its own rules which fundamentalist followers must obey to the letter. No argument about that from a non-Muslim. But cant words for public statements made by our appointed and self-appointed protectors of our countrys official religion be chosen more carefully ah?
