Heres an update the potential for snow in the Sierra Tonight and Saturday. Snow levels will fall to 7000 to 8000 feet with an outside chance of reaching 6000-6500 feet early Saturday Morning. Most accumulations will be above 8000 feet, where 3-6 inches are possible. A couple inches may accumulate as low as 7000 feet. Travel impacts will be limited to the higher Sierra passes in Alpine and northern Mono counties (Highways 4, 108, 120). Snow may cover the road on Carson Pass (Highway 88) and the Mt Rose Summit. Those driving over Echo Pass and Spooner Summit (Highway 50), and Donner Pass (Interstate 80) tonight and Saturday Morning will encounter wet and/or slushy roads.
