Heres another update re Brendan: Not much really to say for feedback today. Things will progress slowly over weeks, months, years even, and some things may not recover, and I accept that, if that is Gods will. Brendan should now stay in hospital another 2 to 3 weeks, with a week after that remaining in Cape Town as an outpatient. So possibly another month still in Cape Town. There are far worse places to be, lol! Brendan will receive intensive physio and speech therapy while hes in Red Cross. He still has that feeding tube, and theyre hoping to remove that in 10 days time, very gradually reintroducing him to solid foods, though this is a painstaking process, due to the risk of asphyxiation. Brendan spent some time in a wheelchair today, which was great for him. He no longer uses the buggy, as the doctors now want him to get used to using the wheelchair. He was happy in it, thankfully, and strapped in securely was safe in it too. He was, again, almost entirely non-verbal today, no change in the right limbs, etc... dont expect improvements in these areas soon. It will take time, weeks, months, even years, if ever. All in Gods time, according to His will. We continue to hope, pray, trust, and do everything we can to help our son regain his functionality fully.
