Heres my report on the manifestations of physics that I found last week at Comic-Con. For me, the highlight was attending a press conference about a new TV drama called Ascension. The show, which will air on SyFy starting in November, centers on a spaceship launched in 1963 on a 100-year voyage to Earths closest habitable planet. Surprisingly - at least to me - the fictional spaceships nuclear propulsion system was based on a real, almost fully developed idea that physicist Freeman Dyson worked on in the late 1950s.
