Heres one of the young Eastern Red Bats we are currently caring for. She was found alone on a sidewalk (Red Bats carry their young with them when they fly, so this baby was orphaned by falling off her mother). She was critically dehydrated and hypothermic upon admit, but shes made steady improvement daily. Here are some pics we had to share. This is when she was first offered a whole mealworm - she got a bit of a mealworm mustache, but seemed to get the hang of it. Were pleased to report that after a few days in our care, shes has been continuously gaining weight and now readily devours her mealworms! Thank you for your support - you help us to care for creatures that are great AND small. ;)
