Heres our official statement about yesterdays announcement: We are both disappointed at the decision to cut funding to life-changing aid projects in poor countries and pleased that the Government shares our view that education, health and the empowerment of women are priorities for Australia’s aid. We welcome recognition of the need for greater long-term consistency will look with interest at the May budget to see whether the Government makes good on this commitment.
