Heres some info from the Omaha paper on ways to help Pilger and the other communities devastated by the tornadoes yesterday: * The American Red Cross is currently accepting volunteers for Wakefield and will start taking volunteers for Pilger on Wednesday at 8 a.m. Donations made to the The American Red Cross Disaster Relief program can be earmarked for Pilger. Donate at redcross.org, 1-800-RED-CROSS or by texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. * The Nebraska Emergency Management Agency says it will issue a news release when it is ready to accept volunteers for Pilger. * The Norfolk Salvation Army, 112 N. Seventh St., is accepting donations of water, fruit and other nonperishable food items. * A fund has been established at Midwest Bank. Donations can be mailed to Pilger Community Development Fund, c/o Midwest Bank, P.O. Box 346, Pilger, NE, 68768. Midwest Bank customers can conduct business at any Midwest Bank location. Midwest Bank Insurance Agency customers can contact Donovan Ellis or Blake Rotherham at 402-371-5200. * U.S. Cellular also is providing assistance at several locations. Storm victims who need to make a phone call, charge a wireless device or access the Internet can go to Cellcom, 214 Main St., Wayne; U.S. Cellular, 2100 Market Lane, Norfolk; Telebeep, 2404 Taylor Ave., Norfolk; and Cellcom, 1208 S.
