Heres the CPC PR machine gearing up .............. RHA launches competition to highlight the benefits of Driver CPC training At the Association of Industrial Road Safety Officers conference at Hinckley, near Leicester, the Road Haulage Association has today launched a competition that will challenge trainers, and those responsible for training, to show how they have successfully shown positive value in Driver CPC courses to those who are paying for them. It can either be a closed, bespoke course for a company or an open course aimed particularly at drivers for smaller employers, where we are looking to see innovative content, delivery and marketing, said RHA Director of Policy Jack Semple. The competition is open to both third party and in-house trainers and entries should be submitted with evidence of support from those who have paid for the training. Our intention is to publish some of the best entries in order to promote. There remains considerable scepticism in much of the industry as to the value of Driver CPC - among company owners, managers and drivers. That is unsurprising, in many ways, given that the industry managed for many decades without a mandatory post-qualification training regime. However, more and more companies are discovering that taking time to analyse driver training needs, and structuring DCPC courses accordingly, is delivering business benefit well in excess of cost. We expect that trend to develop and we want to encourage knowledge and confidence in what DCPC can deliver, Jack Semple concluded. The winning entry will receive a prize of £500 and two runners-up will each receive £250.
