View this email in your browser Donations: PO Box 613 Manchester, MI 48158 Home: 2141 Stonebridge Crossing, Stow, OH 44224 April 1, 2014 Dear Friends, During our visit and rest in Florida I had the privilege to play golf with some terrific NFL veterans from championship teams. Caroll Dale (Packers) and Gary Cuozzo (Colts) played with me one day and it was interesting that we discussed our lives with Christ much more than our sports history! It was so encouraging to see men who were great athletes more concerned about serving the Lord than focusing on past achievements. During one round of golf I was requested to share a cart with a new golfer they invited from Tennessee. George had heard of my imprisonment in Manila and asked how it affected my faith in God to be in such an awful place and have the media slander me around the world. We did more talking than golf after that and I shared that I felt my faith in God had grown in jail. Later in the round George and I prayed on the tee before our drives and he gave his life to Christ! He is in Gary’s Bible study now and I see again how God can use our difficulties for his own purposes. (Romans 8:28) During my walk between flights in a busy Atlanta terminal a young couple approached me, wanted to give me a big hug, and congratulated me on being free! They recognized me from the web site and had been praying for me. Another day I went to get a haircut here in Hudson, OH and was asked if I was that priest that was failed in manila for three weeks? Young kids from around the country have sent me many crayon masterpieces of me sitting in jail reading a Bible. God has a wonderful way of using His people and circumstances to wrap His arms around us with encouragement and love. In fact, people are approaching me daily to talk about God instead of me chasing them! But most of all when I talk by phone to the kids in the Philippines it inspires me when they continue to follow Christ despite what they have been put through. Thanks for praying for our kids and staff as they recover and serve the Lord in the Philippines. “For the Holy Spirit, God’s gift, does not want you to be afraid of people, but to be wise and strong, and to love them and enjoy being with them. If you will stir up this inner power, you will never be afraid to tell others about our Lord, or to let them know that I am your friend even though I am here in jail for Christ’s sake.
